Expeller pressing (also called oil pressing) is a mechanical method for extracting oil from raw materials. The raw materials are squeezed under high pressure in a single step. A new method of seed oil extraction from X. Expeller pressing is the main process for the extraction of oil from canola seeds. Chemical or solvent extraction using hexane is also used to extract the residual oil from the pressed cake.
