The objective was to elucidate the influences of Laurus nobilis essential oil nanoemulsion on the quality properties of fresh-cut muskmelons ( Cucumis melo L.) stored at 4 °C for 8 days. The essential oil of laurel leaves is widely used in the perfume and soap industries [8]. Moreover, it has been used for relieving hemorrhoid and rheumatic pains [2]. It also has diuretic and antifungal activities [1,2,9]. The present study describes the composition of the essential of leaves of L. nobilis and some of its biological activities.

In the present study, chemical compositions of essential oils from seeds and leaves of laurel (Laurus nobilis L.) were evaluated using GC-GC/MS system. Sixty nine different compounds were identified constituting 86.7% of the total oil from the seed, while 76 compounds were determined, constituting 95.8% of the total oil extracted from the leaves.
