Corn germ is processed with the Model III Extractor. Desolventizing Once the oil has been removed by the solvent, the solvent must be removed from both the flakes and the corn oil. Fig. 1 displays the results of oil and total carbohydrates extraction yield, as a function of temperature for the batch extraction experiments, in a single stage.
